This is the 28th anniversary of Tempe Cares, a program of Tempe Leadership. Tempe Cares is a one-day community care project devoted to improving Tempe’s neighborhoods, gardens, schools, and parks. This year the event will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2018,  7am-12pm at Broadmor School  311 E. Aepli Dr. in Tempe, with a complimentary breakfast for volunteers.

Several hundred individuals, groups, and businesses, including our partners Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital and SRP help make Tempe Cares day happen. Donations and in-kind resources are still needed. Those interested in making a donation should contact the committee chair  Stephen Alexander – [email protected].

This year the focus will benefit community gardens in 5 locations and will be the largest city-wide community garden day ever held in Arizona. The community gardens where work will occur are Clark Park, Escalante Garden, Ellertson/Wilson Garden, Broadmor Elementary School, and The Centers for Habilitation.

Approximately 350 volunteers are needed and will be split among the sites. Both skilled and unskilled labor are invited to come together on one day to help transform and develop Tempe’s community gardens. All those interested should sign up below . All ages and abilities are welcome and you do not need to reside in Tempe to participate.  #TempeCares2018

“The Tempe Cares Committee along with Tempe Leadership has diligently planned a city wide project to impact many locations in the Tempe community. Our goal is to host a feel good service project where our volunteers can give back and want to come back again. We look forward to hosting more projects that will positively impact the community in the years to come” said Stephen Alexander, Tempe Cares Chair.
